On 14 February we will hold our next Sniper Match at the Big Piney Sportsman's Club near Houston Missouri on Highway B
(Between Houston and Raymondville).
We shoot paper so Big Magnum's are OK
Muzzle Breaks OK
Three Places

Match Fee: $20, Starting Time: 9:00 AM, Rounds Required: 40, Yardage: 100 thru 800 Yards.

Simulators will be used to include: Building Roof, Under Vehicle, Barrels, etc.

4-Wheelers OK on Range.

A new Division Starting this Month: "Lite Tactical"
This would be for 221 Fire Ball, 222, 222 Mag, 223, and 204 Ruger's with Bullets (EDITED No Bullet Restrictions). Most Long Barrel AR15's should be 1 in 9 or 1 in 12 either should shoot 55's OK. This would open the match up to the guys with 222 and 223 Varmint Rifles. Also it would put more AR15's back on the range again. Lite Tactical would be shot at 100 thru 600 yards. 40 Rounds Total. 100 Yards: 5 Rounds 200 - 600 Yards: 7 Rounds per Position Total 40

Not sure when we will have the next batch of Hats and Shirts in. Bryan did a super job on the design.

Re: Missouri Sniper Match 14 February Big Piney Sport

I have started getting some feed back on the Lite Tactical Division from my Club Mailing List guys.

The Army guys want the bullet weight uped to include 62 grain as they shoot issue ammo.
Our one Die Hard AR15 Shooter who lives close to Terre Haute Indiana has been shooting our Match for several years. He wants 77's included, as that is what he has always shot.

Gun Runner the Club Secretary and I did some conversing on this issue last night on the computer. His input was going to atleast a 69 should not be a problem. He has a bolt 223 as well as an AR15.

I think atleast for now we will not worry about Bullet Weight in the new Lite Tactical Division. Getting the AR15's back out was a Major Goal. Most long range AR15's will be shooting 69 and 77 grain bullets. Gaining some new 222 and 223 Bolt Gun shooters will probably happen anyway by reducing the maximum range in Lite Tactical to 600 yards.

The Lite Tactical Division should be a good place for a new shooter to start as well. A Savage Tactical 223 I believe is 1 in 9 twist, so it will shoot 69's. With a 16X Super Sniper scope a new shooter could be in the game for around $1000 Total to include A fair set of Rings and Bases, Scope Level, Harris Bipod, Pod Loc, and a Rear Bag. And he/she would have a pretty good varmint rifle at the same time.

Rain or Shine to include Snow.

JEFF

We may need to get Robert a Calendar with Valentines Day marked on it.
If you bring the wife we could get her a box of Chocolates.
A bribe might help out, especially if it were a Good Box of Chocolates, and not the cheap stuff. That Probably would not work anyway.

Get her Flowers and a box of Chocolates, and we will see you in Match.

Looks like Bryan is making his world famous Red Beans and Rice dish for this match. That should be worth writing home about.

I think I will shoot Lite Tactical Division with my 221 Fire Ball tomorrow. I probably will not do much good at 600 yards with it, but I bet I have a good time. I have 50 Grain V-Max Hornady bullets going 3170 fps from the Remington Lite Varmint using Lil Gun.

Wish I could make it. Going to Nebraska for the baptism of yet another godson to bless my family. This family that I married into is pumping out babies like crazy! lol.

Told the wife that I wanted to come down though, and she's fine with it. We'll stay with her brother at Ft. Leonardwood, and i'll just drive down that morning, beats getting up at 3AM to leave KC.

It was a bit cold, but otherwise a nice day to shoot. The wind seemed cooperative until the 800 yard line. The Tactical Lite division worked out pretty good for those who shot the smaller calibers like the .223 and .221 Fireball.

Re: Missouri Sniper Match 14 February Big Piney Sport

It was a good time. A good group of shooters. The match didn't take as long as I thought. It went fast. This is the first match I shot like this. I shoot a lot of F-Class. Shooting in different positions was fun. Worth the drive.

Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves. We were glad to have you. We will get our order in early for better weather the next time you come down.

Working on a new Multi Use Simulator. It should be up and going for the next Sniper Match.

It will Simulate the Following:
Low Wall
Building Corner (Left / Right)
Firing Port
Helicopter Door (Strap Supported)
Ceiling Hund 550 Cord Supported
and possibly other combinations.

That sounds like fun. Glad you guys are mixing it up. It makes it more of a challenge to not know what to expect. Your club is doing it right. We will try to make the next one. We had a good time. It does make you think about you rig and what to change to be more adaptable to shooting enviroment.

Re: Missouri Sniper Match 14 February Big Piney Sport

dar,

Glad you could make it. I was the one showing up late, and shooting poorly!

Bobby,

The simulator sounds like something Scott will torment us with. Should be fun.

I was more interesed in cooking and eating the last 2 events than shooting.

Robert saved my butt by having that shell extractor. I would have been out of the game.
Thankyou Robert.
