I'm in the process of gathering components to reload for my LRP-07 and have to decide whether I want to buy commercial brass or military brass. This rifle is definitely hard on the brass.

I just wanted to know you guys experience with using mixed year LC brass with your 308 AR's. To be more specific, lets say if your rifle is capable of .5moa with something like winchester brass. Will fully prepped mixed LC brass do just as well, or most likely closer to .75moa? Or 1moa? or worse?

What about if you sort it by year?

    Time,

I shoot a LWRC REPR with an 18" barrel, and I load LC brass for it. I sort by year, but I have one batch that is all old stuff. 1980's, and 1970's, all mixed years. I load in batches of about 250-500 rounds. I shoot Sierra 175 HPBT's with IMR 4895. I mainly shoot comps with this rifle, and practice positions. I don't shoot it off of a bench or only at 100 yards. 200-600 yards mainly. All my LC brass is full prepped, flash holes, primer pockets, chamfered the crimp, Redding small based resizer, and annealed after every other firing. I can't tell the difference between any lot, shooting steel. I can't comment on anyone's REPR except mine and another shooting buddy's, but they will hold 1MOA out to 800 yards. I have shot many groups in the 500 yard range that have been well under 1MOA. I don't carry a caliper with me to measure.
So, separate by year, and do the prep, and load on! J

I used mixed year LC brass (unsorted), with sierra 77gr factory seconds (unsorted), and came up with this with my 223 AR15. Keep in mind that this was with zero load development, prone with a bipod and rear bag. I am sure it would hold < 1/2 moa with a bench rest setup. Also, my service rifle AR shoots better with LC brass than it did with the big batch of Winchester brass I was using last year.

I have also found mixed year LC brass in my 308 to be capable of the same great accuracy, and capable of holding a tight water line at 600.

Last piece of anecdotal information, three matches ago I won on the 600yd line with a 194 (don't remember x count), and last match I was within a point or two of the highest 600yd score, all with LC brass.

I have found no difference in groups between LC and Lapua brass, though maybe I'm not good enough to tell the difference. I've also never compared them past 600, so maybe things get different at 1000, I just don't know.
