ok so i have roughly 400pcs assorted Winchester brass from years ago when my dad dear hunted and shot for what ever, i am wondering if it would fine to mix 3 diff "types" of winchester brass?

The brass is all from late 80's early 90's. 1x fired

pics of headstamp if they make any diff to ya to answer the question. should be said these are not compition rounds just quality range and what ever rounds.

Re: Mixing same manf. brass?

If you can measure the headspace of your chamber and compare it to the length of that brass from base to shoulder then you'll have an idea on how much you'll need to bump the shoulders to fit your chamber if any at all. Besides that, with normal brass prep you should have some good range brass. If you want to get more detailed you can compare water weight capacity of your different types after you size it. Just stick a spent primer back in the case to hold the water. Digital scale comes in handy for this. I'd assume it's all pretty close though given time frame and all Winchester, but always good to find out.

I also have various old lots of Winchester brass.
What I do with the various lots of Winchester brass I have is to segregate them by weight. I've found some lots weigh as much as 175 grs. Some lots weigh in the 158 gr. area.

I segregate them into two groups of 158 to 163 grs. and over 163 gr. (this is with used primer in).

With an electronic scale, it's very fast to do the separating.
