Mk12 Mod01 to 1200 yards...

Nice day 70 degrees and no wind. Able to shoot nice groups after working on final elevation of 17.2 mils. Scope bottoms out at 15 mils, backed off to 14.2 and held 3 mil dots for POI. The red box OTM ammo shot a lot flatter trajectory (15 mils) with less windage and elevation correction. Too expensive to play around with. Probably the last day this year to pull off this fete as winter is fast approaching here in Utah.

The low group walking up to corrected elevation. A little less convinced it would work until I drove back to the target and checked impacts.

My super duper high speed firing position. I hate freaking getting up off the ground unless someone knocks me down there. I shoot off the hood of my truck. Easier on my hammered knees.

Beautiful gun- What were the groups looking like out there?

With or without the Ops 12th model?

I took a 16" with KAC FF RAS and 3-9 MRT in Iraq to 800 meters in 2004- no targets but it looked like it would hold less than ~20" groups with M855. I was hitting a 50 cal ammo about 2 out of 3 times on a very calm day- like 3MPH wind.

I was shooting an M14 at the same time and the M14 was probably less accurate at that range.

Cool stuff, I hear that Bullets must be SONIC to make it to the target!?$%, You must be Useing A SHAM WOW to polish them ? (jokeing lol). Ive slung Thousands of Rounds Transonic at Distance, any wind Gust with the 77 that far and its Over.! Good way to make use of your Reticule in combination of your Turret.

You must have little star chips in you windshield from Brass,I have a few In my windshield...You can see much better from the hood vs The Ground in uneven terain,My Knee Knows your pain,Getting old sucks. I shoot from the Hood,Roof,Mirrors, windowseals whatever it takes.

That HCS upper ? If I didnt build My own Uppers I would Get one of his..

Nice shooting.

I was shooting home-rolled 77SMK's out to 1100 and hitting melon sized rocks consistently from this rig that Mark Gordon built.

Those little bullets will make it with the right application.

I'm shooting the NPR2 reticle, by I dialed out 40MOA and held the last 10ish that day.

Shooting Blue Label Reman from a HCS upper and modified Colt lower. The target is 6 feet tall eye level when leaning on my truck hood. Used this firing position behind the engine block in Afghanland with good success. I can shoot from prone, but it kinda takes the fun out of it for me. Starts to feel like work. Remember: "It ain't the age, it's the mileage". I am over 50 and still operating. Never quit! The paint circle is 24 inches, the taped on bulls eye is a standard 12 inch grid NRA target. Helps to have a solid point of aim as the 2.5 x 10 14 blurs out at just past 1100 yards. Still working on transfering the Ops 12 can. Someday soon, Gov't willing.

Man I need to get back home. Nice rig and nice shooting--
I just bought a Mk12 mod 1 from HCS...can't wait to get back and see what I can do with it.
Kilmore, which trigger is in your lower??

Re: Mk12 Mod01 to 1200 yards...

Outstanding shooting. Looks like a great place to shoot. Nothing but hills where I currently am - nothings flat. That's the only thing nice I remember about Afghanistan -lots of flat open areas like the picture.

Re: Mk12 Mod01 to 1200 yards...

MD2Colo, I have dumped a Knights 2 stage and installed the 3.5 lbs red spring. A shot of Butch's on the springs, and it breaks like a dream. Guard Marksman, I relate to the west desert looking like Southern Afghanland. Complete with nasty pissed off ground hornets, dust storms and hostile natives. If I make a big left turn, I am in the High Uinta Mountains and that reminds me of the Hindu Kush. Hell I guess there is no getting over it no matter what. Time to go back and shoot.

Said hostile native just off the main road. Check out the 3 year old in the back round with his own rifle by the target. Just another Sunday in Zion.
