Rifle Scopes mk12/ Zeiss Conquest

so i have a new mk12 with a zeiss conquest 4-16
would there be a better alternative?

I am not too knowledgable on scopes

If it works for you, then roll with it.

Though I've never seen a 4-16x Conquest. Sure it isn't a 4.5-14x?

yea i bought it on the EE here and it came with the scope, i guess i will check it out and see what happens

The Zeiss Conquests are nice scope offer great glass Target turrets and nice Reticles. I’m not a big fun of BDC RETs but for the price you can’t go wrong. For a Tactical scope I would recommend something else. Leupold Mark 4, Vortex PSTs, or Nigthforce. If price was not an issue Premier, USO, or S&B.

If you're into "correctness", for a Mk12 the closest scopes to those issued with the rifle were the Leupold Mk4 MR/T 2.5-8x36 with the M2 turret, LR/T 3.5-10x40 M2, and the NF 2.5-10x24 (which is now out of production, superseded by the 2.5-10x32).

I am not looking for correctness particularly rather the most effective scope for mid to long range application

Hard to beat a MK4 lr/t 4.5-14x50 or 6.5-20x50 for the money in high end glass. Vortex viper pst's are nice too
