I have built myself a custom Ruger MK2 pistol and I am looking for a red dot sight for it. I prefer parallax free, any ideas?

I have a Primary Arms Micro Dot on my MKIII 22-45. It's great. The Bushnell TRS-25 get good reviews too. These are a fair bit less $ than the fastfire or it's type.

Tube or reflex?
I use a Bushnell Trophy red dot (tube) on top of my Browning Buckmark for the local smallbore Bullseye Pistol league. The cats' meow in red dots for bullseye shooting is the Ultradot, but I shoot pretty decently with my Bushnell Trophy.
If you are shooting something that requires speed such as in a speed steel competition though, then the tube type might not be ideal, and you'll want to look at a reflex style sight.

In bullseye circles the Ultradot line is popular. Personally my Mark II seems to balance better with just irons, but I'm lo-tech.

I've been running one of the micro Bushnells on my MK2 for a while now. No problems at all.

I have a Bushnell Trophy on a Beretta Neos and it works well for me. As noted, probably not as quick as a reflex but much quicker than iron sights for me. I have another as a temporary scope on a Ruger Gunsite Scout with no problems either.
