I have an opportunity to get a Mk5 HD 3.6-18x44 for $1250, those of you who have experience with this scope how's the eye box, FOV etc..
I'm going to use this on a lighter weight 7mm long range hunting rifle so I don't want an optic heavier than 27 OZ, I doubt I'll find a better scope for this price range but I'm open to suggestions.

I have one and it is very impressive! It replaced a NF ATACR F1 4-16X40, I had them both at the same time and after several side by sides I liked the MK5 better. I also compared my NF ATACR F1 5-25 to the MK5 5-25 and now only have the Leupolds. They are as good as anything out there and after you factor in weight and price they are a win. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I've had mine at the range a couple of times so far, no competition use or anything. The only downside I can find is that the eyebox is a bit tight. I've had Mk6 scopes in the past so it really doesn't bother me. Other than that it's an excellent scope and it's going to be the best scope you'll be able to get for $1250, no way I'd pass up that deal.

What reticle? The CCH is useless on that scope below 10x for hunting without illumination. If it's the TMR it's a much better choice.

Otherwise the scope checks a lot of boxes for a LW hunting rig.

Scott at Liberty can get you into some really good prices on new ones also. 1300-1400 and change for TMR and CCH new in box. But I would pass on the CCH in the 3-18 optic.

I picked one up for my new .300 Win Mag. I went with the Tremor reticle, and it's very useable and about perfect for my needs. I think leupold did a good job with this scope in regards to glass quality, weight, and build quality. FOV is great, glass is crisp and sharp.

Thanks guys I'll give it a try, I just wish it were 50mm to improve FOV a little.
I like to be able to track my shots on a hunting rifle so the eye box was one of my concerns, it'll be replacing a Zeiss v6 3-18x50and that thing had a terrible eye box.. I struggled to find my target after firing a round.

I really like mine, it's a great fit on a 20" heavy barreled AR.
I have a gen2 Sig Tango6 3-18 on a similar rifle in 308 and while I like the Christmas tree on the Sig better, the fit/finish, eyebox, and turrets are better on the Leupold in my opinion. The 35mm tube was a strange choice, but there are plenty of excellent mounting options from Spuhr and ARC that mitigate that.
