Rifle Scopes Mk6 3-18x44 - overview and tracking test

I bought a Mark 6 3-18x44 with the M5C2 turrets and TMR reticle. Here's a short overview of the features of the scope, and an admittedly, obviously, poorly designed and executed tracking test that nonetheless was rather illuminating.

Interested to see if the Mk5 is better. Sample size, of course. Shame the 3-18x Mk5 isn't 100gms lighter and 34mm.

Does Leupold have much of a social media or forums presence? Have they ever addressed the apparent QC issues with the Mk6? I'm not wildly stoked with having to send this back

Of course I *was* warned that this was a common issue with the Mk6 by you guys, and took my chances anyway, because of the Leupold warranty

Not to say i told you so but yeah the Mark 6 seems to be a gamble. Granted i only had a sample of one but upon digging it seemed it was a common theme. Given the positive reports of the Mark 5 i'd never have looked in the Mark 6's direction. Though i know it about equals your S&B in weight so that is what drew you to the MK6. ILya says he impressed so far which tells me it's not just my eyes and limited sample of the 5-25, the glass is good.

I traded my MK6 for an ERS and cash the guy who got it found out it wasn't tracking so he sent it to Leupold they changed out the M5B2 knobs to the M5C2 and fixed it for him.

Pretty much. The only other scope that compares to the Mk6 in size/weight for the features available is the March 3-24x52, and they appear to have their own set of issues, aside from costing a fair bit more than the Mk6

Mark 6 off to Leupold yesterday. Let’s see how long it takes to come back and whether it’s fixed.

I saw the other threat before this one.... I am going to test mine when I get a chance. With the Horus reticle on shorter gas rifles that aren't shot much beyond 800, I just zeroed it and have held ever since.

How’s that for turnaround time; the MK6 arrived at Leupold on Monday and shipped back to me today. Haven’t received anything to say what they did though... not sure if that’s normal?

No description of what they’ve done in either of the emails. Might have to wait til it arrives? Would’ve liked a human to human comms on it to make sure it’s fixed
