I have a 6.5 Creedmoor and .338 Lapua both in RPR. Hit a mile with both using Swamp Fox scopes on both. Bought Leupold Mark 5 impact 60 for Lapua, and bought Votex PST gen 2 EBR-7C for Creedmoor. Better optics but less MOA travel. Got 40 MOA rails and Burris XTR signature dings for both- not installed yet. Just purchased Valdala 200 adjusting rail for probably Creedmoor. Knowing I might have to zero out at 3-400 yards. First post. Any thoughts on combinations for further distance. Thanks

Why bother with the Creed when you have a Lapua?

On a 20moa rail I run out of elevation around 1900 with my Creed/mk5, well past transonic and accurate shooting.

You can push to stupid low velocity with that 40moa rail on your Creed. Don't know why you need an adjustable unless you're shooting ELR with the Lapua.

You plan on shooting past 2000 often?
20-30 moa is perfect for 6.5 and even most with 338.
I personally would run a combination that cannot zero at 100 unless cartridge performance was such that wind effects at its zero range were similar to normal cartridges at 100 to get a true and consistent zero.
