Admittedly I watch the classifieds mostly but have read many of the links about Mil vs. MOA, etc.

We're all visual though and while pondering a new USO, or getting a used one and looking at the different reticles I see the JNG Mill is the only one that shows an MOA measurement in the bottom portion of the illustration.

It got me wondering, does 2 MILs = 8 MOA? If the 1/2 MIL is really 2 MOA, even roughly, that'd be good enough for me for ranging during hunting.

No. At 100 yards, 8 MOA is about 8.38 inches; 2 mils is 7.2 inches. For 1000 yards, multiply accordingly. Do with the information what you will.
