Adding the Magpul PRS, compatible with the standard factory A2 buffer tube?

Also want to add a new handguard, perhaps the Troy TRX, but factory measures 12-1/2" and the TRX comes in 12" length.

It's the 24" bull barrel model- what will be most compatible with the factory railed gas block (or am I going to need to change it out?) and matching the height of the existing receiver's full-length top rail?

    Seeking suggestions?

PRS is a direct swap on rifles with standard rifle-length/A1/A2 tubes (minus the spacer on the A2). Unscrew the stock bolt, pull off the A2 body and spacer, slide the PRS on, install the Magpul-supplied, vented stock bolt. DONE!

The factory-length for the DPMS pattern, rifle-length gas systems is ~12.5", but the TRX 308 rail in the "12" configuration is actually ~12.6" long. They will meet up to (closely, but not touching), the gas block/journal area. If you want a longer rail, you'll need to look at the 13.8 and swap to a low-profile gas block. Do be sure that whatever TRX you order, you match the receiver height of your existing DPMS upper (both "low" and "high" profiles are available...measure twice...order once!! ;) ).
