Looking for some ideas on modifying the magazine box on a Remington 700 .223 in order to load longer OAL rounds . I know a lot of guys have done this but I cannot seem to find the old threads on how it was done .

I cannot find the old threads either. I did manage to find a pic of it though from another site. Basically junk the spacer you have now and replace with a thinner one. Alot of guys use aluminum, some of the fancier ones I've seen are drilled, tapped, and screwed into the magbox, but most just glued.

yea, you just get rid of the factory filler block and install something thinner in it's place. i use plastic .3" thick, and i glue it in with RTV silicone. works for me. i've done two this way.

I did this on one of mine to let a 75gr Amax (2.5" oal) feed in a 223ai. The spacer is a piece of 1/4" aluminium. Feeds like a champ.......
