Could an mdt lss chassis be modified from a lh to a rh just by milling out clearance for the bolt on the correct side. If so i might snag one up from a buddy. His is a lh, but my savage is a rh. Seems to look like the only difference in the clearance for the bolt. I have a milling machine so It would not take me long to modify it. as long as that is all that is different. Thanks

yes please. My gunsmith says he does not like mdt chassis. he said they flex to much. I do have a milling machine and even if i paid him it would only be $60....any info you have though i would be interested. Thanks

I've also done the surgery to an MDT chassis (RH to LH) and it's fine, although perhaps not beautiful.

As for your gunsmith, was he trying to sell you something too?

nope. he was just saying his experience from what he has seen on another gun he built for someone. He is a good guy. I only pay him for services. He has never tried to sell my anything. Always just buy parts wherever I want. He might have his opinion but he doesn't make any money on the parts I buy. He runs an MPA chassis on one gun and on his "back up" gun I forgot which chassis he has.
