Gunsmithing Modifying M700 feed ramp for longer oal

Can anyone help me with detailed instructions or pics on how to modify a stock 700 feed ramp for use with 2.90 length rounds out of an AI mag?

I've done several searches and seen it mentioned but no specifics.

It's best done in a mill with a .250" diameter center cut end mill. First, with the receiver upside down, indicated flat and held in a mill vice establish the center of the receiver/feed ramp. Touch off on the magazine side of the feed ramp lip and move the mill/cutter forward .125". At that point it's a simple plunge cut. Look at the feed ramp of any 591 Surgeon and you'll see the cut I'm speaking of.

I looked at my Surgeon's, but there doesn't seem to be as much material in the 700 as in the Surgeon. I didn't want to take too much off.

It'll be fine. .125" is plenty and all you need for a modified AI magazine.
