money saved

Re: money saved

Look up Sierra 168 or 175 gr MatchKing bullets and calculate price per bullet.

Choose powder (why not Varget) calculate price per round based on how much powder you will put in each case. (7000 grains in a pound)

Look up price of Winchester brass and calculate price per piece. Than calculate 10 uses per piece of brass.

Find cheapest large rifle primer and calculate for price per round.

Add all 4.

???

Profit.

I assumed 308 because I wasn't told.

Re: money saved

Likely about $0.60 or so, the biggest variable is the type of brass you use.

In general though you don't save money reloading, you just shoot more. I shoot 3x the amount I would if I had to buy factory ammo.

Make sure you adjust for brass reuses. Eg: 100 cases for 70$ can actually be 1,000 cases if you reload each 10 times. This effectively cuts the cost per round in half.

If you don't reuse brass, its not worth reloading unless you can load better than FGMM.

It cost me $0.38 to make a FGMM 308 equivalent (this would be $0.44 at todays prices).

Also note I am getting 30+ reloads per case, so my per case cost is pretty close to zero.
