The nursing home where my grandma died was doing weekly testing on the residents and staff. They didn't have a single case until they started testing. Grandma was negative every time. Two weeks after her death we are informed she was in fact positive, but the test took 2 weeks to come back. She was 92 years old and in the advanced stages of dementia. She would have died years ago if she did not have such a great pension from Grandpa. You know how it works, once their money runs out, and .gov starts paying the bill, they usually don't last long.

So, 92 years old. Advanced in demitia to the point she no longer recognized her children. Survived breast cancer twice, Once in her 60s and once in her 70s. Lived for the last 6 years in the advanced stages of dementia. Which is about 6 times as long as we were told to expect when we moved her from assisted living to full care. Died having tested negative for COVID. Then 2 weeks after her death they receive a test result back for her at the nursing home, that she is positive for COVID.

Grandma died of COVID......The lies, they just keep piling up.

Her and Grandpa were inseparable up until his death about 8 years ago. It was almost as though she left us right with him. It is sad but bitter sweet to know her suffering here is over. That is no way to live. Especially right now under the COVID rule of county health officials. All those rules that prevented family from visiting, and what happened in the end? COVID in the nursing home, and a positive test for anyone who dies.

If a little white lie, an encouraged one at that, could net you $30-$50K would you lie?

Sorry for your loss.

Wifes Mom is going the dementia route still home alone but with lots of support. Hopefully that continues for awhile.

God speed, sir.

My wife's uncle just found out he has stage four esophageal cancer.
He went in yesterday for his first bout of chemo/radiation.

Of course they did a Covid test on him first and of course it came back positive.

The hospital admitted him.

A few minutes later he told them to fuck off because he isn't dying in a God damn hospital.

His wife drove him home where he will live out the end of his days where he can actually spend time with friends and family.

The whole thing is a God forsaken mess.

That is sad and true. A lot of people are not getting proper care because of this. Then when they die from not getting preventive care, they are listed as COVID deaths. I mean they are really. All the worst effects of COVID are things people are doing to people over it. Fear, lockdowns, quarantines, suppression of science, shutting down schools.
