Hello everybody, I am starting this thread because i've been looking at scope mounting options recently, and i thought others will find it useful as well.

I am putting, together an order to outfit my hex 91/30, & Hungarian M44. Things like buttstock shell holder, sling, muzzle brake, bipod, optics , mounts etc.

I have plenty of options with my 91/30, but good scope mounts are

extremely slim for the carbines. I am fond of the ATI A.5.10.2281 & other see through mounts. These may be poor choices for those that do not want to do drill & tap jobs, or other mods to their receivers.

I have been looking at alternatives that require little to no modification. Finding some decently priced other than S&k, Darrell's, jmeck's, or brass stackers are starting to look like the pot at the end o' the rainbow.

There a ton of alternatives on fleabay & amazon as well, but it basically a crapshoot. I like the idea of the mounts that sit in the rear sight base. The problem seems to be most are poorly machined garbage, that don't hold a zero. I know that they can't all be bad.

I thought we may be able to keep a running tally of what's good & what's not. Maybe even user reviews, and the best places to find them online. Maybe this'll be of help to everyone.

So if you know of any reliable setups & outlets, let us all know

Re: Mosine carbine, optics mounting info

the option i went with is i removed the rear sight base it was only held on with 2 pins it wasn't soldered but some are and then i used scope rings for a 22 that are meant to go on a 3/8" dove tail no need for an actual scope mount i personally chose rings that had an off set so they would be spread farther apart on the scope tube
