Mossberg 800a 308 bolt action ?

I have an old Mossberg 800a 308 sitting around & i was thinking of refinishing it & bringing it back to working order.Are there any after market parts for something like this ? I'm primarily looking for a new stock & if possible a box mag . Any help would be greatly appreciated .

You are likely SOL in terms of finding a different mag setup for the rifle as there just was never any real market support for the Mossberg bolt guns (Remington, Winchester and Savage still carry the day in terms of aftermarket support).

However, Richard's Microfit Gunstocks may be able to help you with a different stock. They offer a wide variety of stocks/styles that you can tailor to your needs and, at least at one time, they offered inletting for the 800A. Here you go:

IIRC the trigger is NOT adjustable on these? They ain't much of a prize in my worthless opinion. Tinkered around with a couple customers brought to me yrs ago and they are about as cheap and basic as you can get for a centerfire rifle. Fine for a box a yr deer rifle but not much more. Unless there is an unbreakable tie emotionally or something from your past you can't part with I understand, otherwise trade it for something better you can fit to your needs/wants. Just my 2 cents worth however.....

It doesn't have a special place in my heart but for an old cheapo it's a tack driver , i just want to make it look a little nicer.No sense & letting a gun go to waste .
