Hello everyone,

I have a Remington 700 LTR 308 left handed and want to mount a Seekins Precision detachable magazine. I read lots of good reviews about it. I know it needs to be inletted by a gunsmith.

1) Does anyone have any recommendations for a gunsmith to do this with a price estimate?

2) Also, are box magazines interchangeable from various companies. For example could I use a Badger Ordnance magazine on a Seekins?

3) What does AICS mean? The Seekins website says the magazine is AICS.

Here's a link from Seekins

Thanks you for your time everyone!

1 - Cant really help you, never had any smithing done

2 & 3 - I dont think Badger actually MAKES AICS magazines, their DBM system uses AICS Mags, and they sell them. AICS stands for Accuracy International Chassis System. From my limited knowledge, its the company that started the universal magazine system for their stocks.

So as long as you buy AICS Magazines, regardless of who sells them, it will fit Glen's DBM system

Someone else can chime in and fix my half answer, but a good search of the Hide and Google would answer all of those questions 10x over.

AICS is the chassis system, and is one popular solution for a detachable magazine system. Several vendors here sell AICS magazines, and ALPHA magazines also will work in place of AICS.
