I currently have a scope rail on my Rem 700 .308 action, but it has the partial cut out in the middle for easier top loading of the cartridge. I recently got a Spuhr one piece mount, and it will not work with that set up as it has a lug in the middle of it right where the cut out is. I am going to mount a Badger one piece rail instead with no cut out. Is there anything in particular I should watch out for? What possible ways can I screw this up? I know if the screws are too long they can effect the bolt, but the screws I have are from Badger, particularly for the Rem 700 action, so I'm thinking this shouldn't be an issue. Also, what color loctite should I use?

Oh. I'm familiar with the torque settings for the action screws, and there's no shortage of opinions about which setting is best!!! I just needed to know about the scope mounting rail. I appreciate the input though.
