I bought a 20 moa egw rail. When I screw it down the 2 front screws dont go in as far as the rear. Is this normal because of the canter? Then mounting the bases to the rail (Weaver tactical 6 hole) How tight schould the clamp be? I didnt see a torque spec in the instructions. Last question. Being hearing different things on loctiting the screws. Which ones should have loctite on them and which ones shouldn't? This in on a savage fcp-k.

Re: mounting bases and scope

Headstrong--check one thing--there should have been 2 short screws and 2 long screws in the package with your rail. I put an EGW 20 MOA alum rail on my model 10 FCP-K Monday. The two short ones go in the front two holes and the two longer ones go in the rear two holes. If you have them the other way around, the long screws are bottoming out on the barrel, I think.

I used blue loctite on the contact surface and on the screws after I verified fit. All was good on mine and it was a reduced price "blemish" version. Never found the blemish.
