Mounting GG&G rail onto HS Stock

Hey guys, I got a quick question that I couldn't find from searching.

I have a Savage 12LRP with HS fiberglass stock and want to attach a GG&G PSS adapter to it to use a GG&G bipod. I know I can just get a swivel stud insert but was also wondering if I could just screw it in with a wood screw? Does anyone know of anything I can just get at the hardware store so I don't have to pay shipping for a $5 part?

I would not use a wood screw into a fiberglass stock. I used a blind nut upside down( correct size for bolt provided) and used hysol to fix the blind nut into the stock on the front and rear bolts of the PSS adapter. Or just order the right part and pay the shipping.

I got it mounted. I went to home depot and got some T nuts since I could not find blind nuts and just removed the spikes and dremeled out two sections in the barrel channel so they sit below the surface. It doesn't look pretty but you cant see it and it works perfect. Suck it brownells shipping charges.
