I know the various mounts have been discussed from time to time, and generally, I see Keymo and YHMs system discussed in a positive light.
I currently have Area419 mounts on all my suppressors but am building an SBR now, and the 419 does not have a brake to prevent some of the baffle wear the SBR is going to cause. The current suppressor I plan to use for this rifle is a Saker762 so durable, but I’d like to minimize erosion.
That in mind, I’m looking at the YHM and Dead Air QD systems to swap over to for bolt and semi auto use. I’m also open to other options but these seem to be the top picks. What I can’t find good info on is accuracy impact between the two. More specifically, I’ve found one comment about the YHM discussing the course threads potentially leading to issues with lockup on the tapered shoulder not being even. I like the lighter weight of this mounting system vs the Keymo, but if it’s going to have more potential negative impact on accuracy, I’d prefer accuracy over the weight savings. Both have been around a long time so I assume this has all been figured out by now.
I am assuming other than this, lockup is close to equivalent so the only real debate is weight/length vs accuracy in my eyes. I’d love to hear feedback, or any other suggestions (except Q). I love the Rugged system, for example, but you can't buy it for other manufacturer's suppressors, unfortunately.
