On the MPA Comp Chassis with the left side of the mag well cutout for quicker access when prone-what does that do to the stability of the mag in the mag well. Is it still secure? can it get bumped out or dropped easy because of the cut?

Thanks.

It’s easier to put the mag in, it’s easier to take it out, you can do both lower prone on the ground or on a prop than if you had to clear the entire depth of the full well and you can do them quicker.

No problems on my end either. Owned about 3 comp chassis, with 3 different actions in em'. None of them showed any sign of unintentionally releasing/dropping the mag due to the cutout. And the mags didnt seem to wiggle any more than in my other chassis.
Ive never handled a chassis any rougher than taking it to a few local matches, but from what I can tell, no problems.

FYI, they are actually discontinuing the castle cut feature on all future chassis. I just got in a new comp chassis for my Tikka and they will now have an ambi action cut and no castle magwell cut. Also, make sure it is not a Tikka inlet version as there are a few that have the cut floating around. I almost picked one up from a member and checked with MPA before. They told me that on the Tikka's, the location of the castle cut will interfere with the barricade stop system.

No. You just get an uglier chassis

Thats what I figured. I get that is makes it a lot easier for them from a tooling standpoint but again you pay $800 and wait 6 months+ for a chassis that is not really "custom" to you anymore. I have two MPAs and love them and love what they come out with but I bet this will take some time to smooth over with people...actually I bet the majority of people won't even notice or care.

The ambi cut really doesn't bother me. I still think their chassis is hands down the best for the money, if you can stomach the wait. I have a tikka so the cut was never an option for me anyways.

I agree about the value of the chassis. I had a XLR Element and it was okay but lacked the refinement of the MPA, the new Envy is better but I still do not like their buttstocks. I do like the look of the JAE chassis but for an extra $5-600 dollars for one I can get 2 MPAs.

On my first MPA I tried to order directly from them and then realized I could get it much faster from one of their dealers as they are always sending more for them, I was able to buy what I wanted almos instantly. I am not sure why so many people go directly through MPA if they are basically getting a stock chassis.

I bought the hybrid because of the ambi cuts, lefties will rejoice as itll make it easier to buy from the secondary market. Always wondered why it took so long for chassis to start coming out this way.

I order directly from them, due to military pricing. And no dealer ever has a tikka inlet in stock.

I dont think people have had issues with the magwell cut. So I wouldn't be worried, they are not discontinuing it due to complaints. They are getting rid if it because there are less mag changes, in the opinion, with the addition of extenders. (This is all info they told me a cpl months ago)
