I am looking to mechanically zero my scope and want to take the 20moa base into account. I am new to the mrad system and learning as I go. I am trying to figure out how many .1 mrads clicks it will take to cancel out the 20moa base.

Is the following anywhere near correct:

1moa @ 100yrds = 1"
20moa @ 100yrds =20"
and
.1mrad @ 100yrds = .36"
so....

Does this mean that it would take 55 or 56 clicks to allow for the 20moa base?

Re: mrad scope and 20moa base

Math was never my strong suit, but I get 20MOA = 5.8mils, not 5.5. Only 0.3Mils (or 0.25) difference, but still...

Again...STOP THINKING IN CLICKS AS IT WILL ULTIMATELY SCREW YOU UP!

Re: mrad scope and 20moa base

You shouldn't use an MRAD scope with an MOA base. Doing so is akin to crossing the streams when using a pair of man-portable particle accelerators - the results are for sure unpredictable and most likely to generate something not from this dimension. If for some reason you HAVE to mate the two together, whatever you do DO NOT THINK OF The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Swap your 20 MOA base for a 5.8 MRAD base, start imagining reticle movement in increments of Sigourney Weaver's areola size, and you'll be GTG.

Tape this handy reference to the back of your Mil Dot Master and keep it in your kit, or hang it off the side of your scope with 550 cord:
