I get that a weapon chambered for 5.56 can shoot either calibre; and a .223 can only shoot .223 due to the pressure....

But in a multi cal, is one calibre typically more accurate than the other? I was thinking 5.56 would be due to the higher pressure...

Answered my own question...barrel is stamped 5.56 1:9 twist...

maybe a "doh" moment for me...but I still think they should match the lower stamp as it's a factory gun

I have a 5.56 upper, a .223 wylde upper, and a 6.5 Grendel upper which are all used on the same lower. That is why it is stamped multi cal. My lower is stamped 5.56 and it actually bothers me considering the 6.5 Grendel upper "lives" on it.
The DT SRS is a multi caliber weapon, so why stamp the chassis as a .308 if the user is gonna stick a .300 wm barrel in it?

As for your .223 vs 5.56 question, every barrel shoots different.
