Multitasker 3 or Leatherman MUT?

I have a Leatherman MUT. Great tool with a lot of useful features. The only gripe that I have about it is I have to be careful every time I hold onto it to not get cut by the cutting hook. If anybody knows any remedies for this, please share. Other than that, great tool.

Try carrying your MUT in the case it came with (I don't have another one and too much stuff in the pocket already) on your right side with the hammer end down and the cutting hook opening forward. That way when you take it out it's going the correct way to rip back a jammed AR bolt and also to open the knife blade with your right thumb. If you hang it on your belt with the side clip, it's upside down in my opinion. I've had mine a few months and haven't cut or hooked myself yet, although that's only a matter of time with any sharp object I've ever picked up.

The only other thing I really wish the MUT had is scissors. The pliers/cutters work well as garden shears for clipping little branches for camo. The saw is not a substitute for a real saw so think of it as a notching tool that helps you break a stick where you want. The hammer end is a good safety idea because when you pound on things with it, there's nothing sharp sticking back up at you, as opposed to hammering with the butt of a Ka-bar.

I'm not any kind of an operator but I know some people who are, and my MUT is usually the first one they've ever seen ("$150? you must be rich!"), so I can't tell you even secondhand how it's working out in action.
