I'm down to 2 choices for 20 MOA base:

Murphy - Stainless steel, no recoil lug, $129

Seekins - Aluminum, with recoil lug, $99

It will be put on a Remington 700 AAC SD 308 with (hopefully) Aadland rings and Vortex 6-24x50.

Is stainless that much better? Is recoil lug that important?

Which would the hive recommend and why?

Both excellent products, have rings and bases from both Cameron and Glen. Recoil lug, well your rifle is a 308, aluminum lighter, steel perhaps a little stronger, you cannot go wrong with either.

Go with the Seekins. You won't see a strength difference but the recoil lug is a good option to have to keep recoil off the screws. Even through the .308 isn't a heavy recoiling rifle over time it's better to have the lug.

Thanks for the feedbacks. Probably not going to go with titanium since weight won't an issue and the added strength probably not worth the additional cost to me. I'll check out Near.
