I kind of agree. I’m holding out for judgement. He needs verified and trust is earned by actions. Does e owe me or anyone else anything? No. Does anyone care what I think? No. But this guy is not jumping on the Musk love train yet. I believe in a lot of respects, he belongs to the same class as all the elites and politicians. So he has an uphill battle to prove that he is somehow different than any of the others.

Its a doomed strategy to have one billionaire save us from the other billionaires.

While I think there are a lot of worse things that can happen besides Musk taking over Twitter, we shouldn't be at the whims of billionaires and governments controlling our "town squares" and thus our discourse.

I like to think that Musk is going to do mostly good in this matter, this problem is above one man to fix. There needs to be some major reform, and a fresh new respect for the first amendment.

Yeah he claims that's just for the quadriplegic types to help them function again but he gets money from DARPA so we'll see where that goes.

One of the things that must be remembered is that money alone doesn’t equal power. There are politicians and bureaucrats with much less money than him that can enact changes that cause his Twitter and other investments to go to near zero. Standing up to the very governments that give you money or regulate your industry can have serious consequences. This also includes pissing off other billionaires who have had a head start of 20 years in buying said politicians for their own purposes.

Twitter - FCC or Ministry of Truth violation, heavy fines and turned off in certain countries.

SpaceX and Starlink - no more .gov money, no NASA contracts, FAA audits

Tesla - EPA audits on the batteries, restrictions on imported materials, NTSB audits and findings

I think this clearly illustrates just how far the radical left has gone. I have to think a lot of the democrat party truly share views more in line with Maher, but are afraid of being ostracized by the radicals pushing the agenda.
