So I'm building a rifle off of a Remington 700 AAC-SD in .308. With the threaded muzzle I have a couple options, including mounting a brake. As I've considered this I'm wondering if, with the .308's mild recoil, if it's worth it. What's the concensus, it it worth mounting a brake? If so what do you recommend?

Thanks for the replies, but my biggest question is, with the mild kick of the .308, is it worth it?

Only thing I can add/suggest is what I did. I have the AAC/SD. I first fired it without a brake and noted some difficulty with spotting shots due to muzzle rise---No problem dealing with recoil physically (ie; it didn't bother my shoulder). I purchased an inexpensive VAIS style brake (~$40) to see if it made a difference in recoil/control and spotting hits/misses without having to reacquire. It did...but it made a dust cloud when firing prone due to the design. So I purchased a Surefire SOCOM brake which vents only upward slightly and horizontally. Torque, dust, and muzzle rise problem solved--
