I have a .260 barrel that came with a muzzle brake. However I notice the brake has a .30 cal diameter aperture. To be exact the aperture is .34

Is this standard to use a .30 cal brake on a 6.5mm/.260 barrel, will it be effective?

I could be wrong but I find it slightly odd, but I could be mistaken.

    Advice appreciated.

Aperture? You mean hole? If it's not a custom brake then, yes, I would say it would be common to install a 30cal brake on a smaller caliber.

As long as the brake is aligned properly, it will work fine. 30 cal hole is ok...25 cal hole would be bad (real bad).
