I am fixing to rebarrel my 308 and I am looking at installing a muzzle brake. I was looking at the Surefire since I am getting a can for it also... In y'alls opinion what is the best brake for a can or what is the best brake if I dont use a can on the 308? Any opinions would be appreciated...

Actually the search button is terrible on this boards software. I prefer to use google or yahoo for my searchs. Format it like this.

break 308 site:snipershide.com

Re: Muzzle Brakes

If you are going with a Sure Fire can then use the correct sure fire break. I have one on my .308 and it is an effective Muzzle break. I'm not sure of the model #, but it is the same one that GAP uses on the HRT gun and the M40A5.

A friend has an SAS can and he uses their Muzzle break.

If you want to use a muzzle break with out a can, then be able to directly thread the can on when you want to use it look at the R and D precision Rapid Break.

Also, get the opinion of whomever you are using to rebarrel.
Best of Luck.
