Anyone have a suggetion for a break for a 300 win 5/8-24 thread. I got one and it wont screw all the way down. Also will any other sizes fit this

Why won't your brake go on all the way?

Could be:

Muzzle threads oversized

Brake threads undersized

Brake not threaded all the way through

No thread relief at base of muzzle threads

Crown is bottoming against the brake before the shoulder does

You've got to "work" the brake down. Meaning you have to use both hands and work it back and forth (like your trying to start a fire with a stick using the old Indian technique). The key is to work it SLOW. Don't apply too much force because you'll hurt the threads. If you work it back and forth with a little lubricant applied to the threads... I assure you it will fit. It's just really tight. That's a good thing.
