Muzzle Breaks

Why would you want to break your muzzle?????? :)

For a good BRAKE, I like Ross Schuler. Inexpensive ($45), fast shipping, great service.

I had Short Action Customs thread my muzzle and install the brake. $125, cut back barrel, recrown, thread, time brake contour to barrel and Cerakote.

Been running a JEC break. Worked great through a class and I was able to develop my alignment with the .308 without the hop. I'm learning so I needed a little transition until I build a solid foundation.

In the commercial sales section, there are a few for sale... one is self timing and has a nut that backs off to self time the brake... vs shims...

Big Chubby one claims to keep cross hairs inside of 2" at 100 with 308

The JP Tank comp is nothing short of amazing, but its a big beast and you dont really need it. My wife ( 5,2 115lbs) runs one for her 308 shooting 178 amaxs around 2700. It tames the recoil down very nicely and she can shoot an entire F/TR course of time at the local range with no recoil fatigue.

For a bigger person this brake is over kill. Go with the Ross Schuler and call it a day. Best bang for the buck IMHO.

I want it to be the same diameter of my barrel which is .900.I have a Vias Quite break on a 30-06 and am not really impressed with it and I don't know why they call it Quite Break.

Has anyone had contact with Ross lately? Sent three emails and a phone message left a few weeks ago and never heard from him. Have purchased a few who his with great results and needed a few more but can't seem to get a response back.

It is summer time, maybe he is taking a vacation. :)

If you are looking at getting a SureFire brake but you are never going to suppress your rifle we are now shipping the PROCOMP version which is pretty close to the same design but $59 at retail because we got rid of the features that are only really beneficial if you are planning on mounting one of our suppressors on it. The 5.56 1/2-28 is starting to ship and the 7.62 5/8X24 is close to hitting the streets.
