Well I managed to get back to the range this morning and run my loads over the chronograph ( Magneto Speed V3 ) the 75 grains of H-1000 and the 230 grain OTM Bergers averaged 2800 fps and at 300 yards this morning and I put five shots in under 1/4"

Next I tested the 208 grain Hornady Amax with 75.5 grains of H-1000 and the avg velocity on those were 2864 fps. They grouped under 1/2" at 300 as well so I am happy camper for sure on these two loads.

My Surgeon 300WM loves 76.5 grains Retumbo and the 230 OTM in WW brass. It flies over the V2 chrono at 2811 FPS and is just over 7 Mils at 1000 yards. I love the 300WM!

I bought a lb of Retumbo to give a try in mine using the 230's so my next set of tests will be using that powder and working up from 76.0 grains.

James,
Load up carefully, as I see just a hint of an ejector mark on a couple of pieces of my brass. Berger's data maxes out a grain below me.

Thanks for warning, I've been up to 78 grains on my H-1000 before I got pressure signs in the Bat action I have. Since the powder is a tad slower than the H-1000 I figured a good start point be 76.0 grains but I'll keepeye on pressures.

You should be able to get 3000fps with 208 amax safely

I've tried pushing bullets hard out of this gun and they just don't group as well as where I'm at with both loads. I'd rather have the accuracy and not be as hard on the brass as to try and push them hard. I'm not sure what another 150 fps will gain me at 1000 yards on drop but I can't imagine there's enough gain to get there with wear and tear on the equipment.

According to Hodgdon I'm running higher velocities for what they claim velocity should be with my loads. I'm not sure if I wanna try and push it much further like said I've been up to 78 grains of H-1000 and the groups were hovering around 1.5" and stiff bolt lift. My barrel is a Lilja 3 groove so it just may not like to be pushed hard and I think it's 31" in length

What primers do you use? And you meant one quarter moa right?

Well you oughta save that target because a .25in 300 yard group is close to the 300 yard bench rest world record shot with heavy bench rest guns. The best bench rest shooters in the world would love to have .25" 300 yard groups with their Ppc railguns much less with a 300wm
