My 7yr. old rings steel, for the first time!!

My son (7) hit steel @ 700yds. for the first time.
He had 2 hits, with 2 shots. This was in 4-5 mph winds,
8 mph gust. I did the dope on the scope, and put my hand at the
back of the stock. This was to help with recoil. We were ln the prone.
He did the rest. Not one time, but 2 in a roll.
He was shooting: 22"Bbl. (rock) 700Rem.(308 cal) in a AICS. built by
Predator Arms.
175gr. SMK.
Target size: 15" O
I had one happy little boy. I was dame happy 2.
Sorry, it's not beyond 1,000yrds.
But, I just thought I would pass it on.

Congrads Mike, a proud moment for you I am sure! Thanks for sharing this with us, its only to bad that some of the others did not speak up sooner to support you and your son in this moment that any father would be proud of, enough so, to share it with strangers who could, or should appreciate this accomplishment.

Keep the boy shooting, it sounds like he is off to a great start & has plenty of time ahead of him to hit at 1k.

Yes congrats to you and your son. I know alot of grown men who are simply amazed and cant keep the grin off of there face when I take them out for the first time and they are able to hit something that far away. Keep up the good work dad.

Thank you, for your response. I let my son read what was wrote,
and it made him feel like he was part of a group.
Yes, We did get pics. And he also keep the brass(with the yrd. And date
wrote on it).
Thanks, for making my son feel good about his acomplishments.
He now looks forward 2 going for 1000yrds.

Nice to here about kids , teach them right, they are our future.My son is 13 now, and has been shooting since he was 5. He is not only a good shot with rifles and shotguns and pistols, but also a state champion target archer .
