I got into my NFA stuff before Hughs. I stand to lose a bunch of $$ value if it ever got reversed. Reality says it will never get reversed. I will never sell my NFA stuff, so it doesn't matter what its worth. NRA and Reagan sold us out in 86. I have some things I would really like to have, M2, MG34, MG42, 1919 etc. If the prices came back down I could add these. I would be all for its repeal.

I have done a bunch of ratta tat tat in my life but mostly I just like working on them, taking them apart etc. I'm kinda a gear head too and I spend more time working on my stuff than using it. They bring me pleasure. Some of my car enthusiast friends ask me why I have that stuff, they don't get it. I always relate it to them like its cars. My guns are safer than cars. The fact of the matter is that a bump stock does not break the law. It goes right up to the edge. Oh fucking well. Like doing 64.99999 mph in a 65.

First time I saw a bump stock I knew it would be trouble. But non-the-less it is legal.

There is no set standard (and we do not want one) on the cycle rate of a semi auto. So anything law that trys to regulate that is a mess.

IIRC the bright line standard by the BATFE for a MG is any device that allows more than one bullet to be fired by a single pull of the trigger. So from my understanding of triggers and bumpstocks - bumpstocks are within the letter of the law.
