So I just got my Savage back and wanted to share in this section. I originally was going to build a 338 EDGE on a long action Savage but I fell in love with the 6.5's and decided to go with a Creedmoor.
The gun was built by Howard Mahute of Rumble Wepnz in Milton Fl. He goes by Shooter53 here on the Hide. Howard has been very insightful and answered all of my questions, trust me I had plenty!
The gun was already equipped with a Choate Tactical stock and Duracoat GAP camo by me. I painted in a Punisher skull on the grip of the stock. tried to give it my personal touch but stay with the GAP colors too.
Howards work included:
Bartlien Barrel 1.250 dia. 30" length 8.5 twist stainless steel
Precision ground recoil lug 0.250"
Cut and Thread tenion to match receiver
Chamber and set headspace
cut 11 degree recessed target crown and polish
Square up receiver face if needed
Sand blast action to prep for paint
paint barreled action 1 coat Olive Drab Green Duracoat
I know this doesn't compare in the amount of work most guys get on there custom guns, and one day I do plan on getting one. But for a 22yr old college kid I think I have a pretty good start.
I will mainly be shooting this in BR competitions at 600-1000 yds which is a reason I went with the 30" tube. Overall I couldn't be happier with the gun and will be getting it out to the 600yd plate match this Saturday then stretch it out to 1000 after the match.
The scope is a Nikon Monarch 8-32x50 ED. Ken Farrell 20MOA Steel base and TPS Steel Medium rings. Also, you might notice the Oakleys OIL RIG's that I paint matched
I need a shorter bi-pod and I'll be good to go.

I couldn't get the best lighting because I have a bottom floor apartment so opening the blinds to get some light isn't the best idea, but hope these will do!
