OK, so I've aquired a .223 barreled action, and have other R700 barreled actions laying around, and I got to thinking, It would be nice to have a "trainer/loaner" rifle. I'd like to have someting that one of my friends who was interested in shooting, but didn't have a good LR rifle, could grab and go with.
So I had sorta forgot about this .223 for a while, hell I've never even shot it, and I recently got to thinking about it again.
I was at Manner's not long ago and Tom and I were discussing how I had this barreled action that I wanted to make into like a trainer/loaner gun. I bought a used PSS stock for it that had been bedded, and I was bitching about how I really hated swapping around actions into previously bedded stocks without skimming them due to my OCD. We both agreed that the Manner's Mini-Chassis would be perfect for this application. The aluminum V-channel style bedding block provides for a perfect "load-n-go" stock that doesn't really "require" bedding...
So he hands me a T2-A with the Mini-Chassis in it that he had in his safe. I had no experience with the T2-A prior to this and it just slipped right in... I have small hands and the palm swell is a little smaller than the T4. I've always liked the T4, but this T2 just fits me so well. Needless to say, I took home a T2-A with me... I'm looking forward to shooting this thing soon, hopefully it's pretty accurate (just a stock barrel).
BTW, those in the B-Ham are who want to try their hand at precision shooting, but don't have a rifle yet, this is one you can kick the tires on...
Big thanks to Tom, you're right, the stock kicks-ass!!!
Snapped a couple pics after mounting it up and throwing a scope on it.
