Winter is finally over (I hope) as soon as the ground dries a bit more it's time to start planting and getting busy on the farm, but I finally have my new toy put together. Getting the action was slower than expected, and now I need to squeeze in some load development time. Plus, there's a match in one month that I try to shoot at every year with my three sons - I need to find an eighth day in every week to get my playing done! The rifle is a Bighorn TL3 action, a Bartlein barrel chambered in 260 REM, sitting in a KRG X-Ray chassis with a Timney Calvin Elite trigger, topped with a Vortex Razor 4.5-27x56 and tipped with Thunder Beast's Ultra 7. I had a paint job in mind, but that's gonna have to wait. Anyone want to farm while I play?

We have very similar taste!! I just got mine in and put together next to the 308 twin. 6 Dasher was the route I went with and run a titanium phantom for a can with the exact set up in glass, trigger, can cover etc. Good choices!!! LOL If the farm is in Colorado and includes range time then I'm in!

I had planned on painting the barrel, but don't have time now, it's bead blasted to be similar to the bare steel of the action. The pics might have the barrel over-exposed a little, but it is bright. At the same time, I'm liking the look and may hold off on paint even longer.

Very nice rifle! I'm waiting on my TL3. One more month.

I noticed what looks like a barrel nut system on there or am I seeing things. Is that Bughole's Bugnut? I'm only asking because that's what I plan to do.

Thanks in advance.

I snapped up a TL2 and have been quite happy. Granted, it took all summer last year to get it finished up with the new Manners and DBM, but this year I get to actually shoot it instead of just thinking about shooting it.

Y'all have some nice rifles!

lol Me too! Eastern Co would be perfect. I'm hoping to get out on Sat and fireform 200 rounds so I can get down to the serious fun of load testing.

It would be fun to fire form loads while doing some pest control on SD Prairie dogs! Keep us posted on the Dasher...

It is a barrel nut, but not the BugNut. On this gun we used a typical Savage style nut from Northland Shooters Supply.

Good time today out to 600 with a friend. 3/8" at 100yds. Hornady 105gr Amax. Ave 2615 with 28.5 gr Varget. Only one split neck out of 200 rounds. Conditions were fairly challenging with sleet/rain with a 5-25 mph variable from 10:30 to 03:00. Also played with the 308 full power and mortar subsonic out to 600. Funny stuff. Dogs would have been way more fun!!
