it is a tough time... no doubt.
this is something I have always liked and thought it fit for my Dad.....

Sorry to hear SM, he looks like the epitome of the west to me from the pics you showed and that IMO is one of the best things a man could be. As you know mine is facing the cancer too and even though mine is expected to survive a while longer it is still tough to watch them old cowboys fade. Hats off to your Dad.

Hang in there old son, this too shall pass. He obviously meant a great deal to you and thank you for sharing your pain as well as your admiration for him w/ us here. I am truly sorry for your loss. Remember the good times...take care. Condolences.

My Dad had a heart attack on this weekend while i was a few hours away. Worst thing i have gone through so i cant even begin to imagine the loss you and your family have just had.

My sincere condolence to you and your family. It's always difficult to loose a love one, no matter who they are. Lost my brother 8 years ago. Still feel it today. Will say a prayer for you and your family.

Scot sorry for your loss my friend. My own dad passed many years ago. I still miss him. But your right. He is in a place now where it doesnt hurt and he is not in pain.. Take some comfort in that.

I'm sorry for your loss - that's an awesome photograph and memory for you to hang onto.
I was in Gillette many times in 1982, had an oil well I had to drive up from Newcastle to check, change oil, bleed water etc..
I love that country!
RIP to your dad - he got a chance to live in some of the finest country this country has.

My Dad was taken when no one else was home. The doctor said it looked like he was laying things out for a shower and fell to the floor. They said with that type of massive heart attack he didn't suffer much more than a minute.
That was in 1972. And I still miss him EVERY DAY. But the hurt isn't as bad.
I'll pray for you and your family.

sorry about your loss man. it'll be a year my dad passes away in June. not a day goes by that i don't think of him. we found out in jan 09 he had serocis(sp?) of the liver. june 09 he passed. watching him wither away was tough. when we put him in the tomb with my mom i realized he truly is in a better place. kinda helped me make my piece with it. cherish the memories.
