My first 500!

Made my first 500 yard shots today. The weather is perfect here in Michigan, so this afternoon I packed up my steel target and started hiking. When I got back, I caculated my distance to the target to be 500 yards. Dialed in 3.7mils on my scope and let her fly. Hit my steel upright support. Dialed up .1 mil to 3.8mils and it was all over.

I know his this childs play for most of you, but for me it's been a milestone. Happy shooting!

Nice work man and nice rig.

Got my first hits at 500 a couple weeks ago also, in some nasty wind. It's really fun landing shots at something farther than 200 finally.

Congrats. 500 was a milestone for everyone at some time.
Hint, targets are easier to paint if all the paint is shot off.

How could you stop at 7 hits with an AR?

It's easy to stop when your realize each shot is costing you a dollar.

I really need to start rolling my own.

What caliber is that thing? Reloading helps, I'd probably shoot 65% less if I didn't reload.

Good old 308. Match grade ammo is costing me about $1 per round.

Congrats , that's cool. Nice shooting! Thanks for sharing. And yes reloading helps alot and you'll get better accuracy than match ammo. Happy shooting now go for 600 lol.

Nice shooting. Reloading does help on the wallet. Especially if you are shooting match grade.

Accurately shooting your first reloads (if/when you start) will feel just as good as this (with smaller groups!)
