Hey all,
Been lurking here for awhile and wanted to say thanks for the great resource. After reading up on distance shooting I decided to go with the Remington 700 SPS Varmint 26" in .308. This is my first gun. Got a steal on it, new with rebate for under $500. AICS 1.5 Chassis with the ViperSkins. Have to say that Mike and Heather over at Victor Co. are a class act. Slight issue installing the skins and they replaced the order without a question. Fantastic service. Dropped in a Timney Trigger set to about 2lbs. The KRG bolt knob replacement went on easy and made it much easier to cycle the bolt. The LOP is a little short for me yet so I'll be adding another 2 spacers to the stock. The Nikon Monarch is ok for now (borrowed from my brothers rifle) and looking at NF or Vortex FFP sometime this summer. I've shot maybe 100 rounds in my entire life prior to this project (mostly shotgun) and was a little nervous about taking this on. Shot it stock for about 2 months before all the add-on's and held around 5" at 100 yards. Now sub-moa at 150. Anyone from NE WI and wants to shoot, let me know.
Zeke
