Budget build. Started off as a 700 VTR in .308. Now:

Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor

Lilja 3 groove 1:8 26" barrel (contour 8)

Jewel trigger

B&C Medalist stock (Painted with Alumahyde II called "Earth Brown". As you can see, it comes out more FDE. )

Hawke Sidewinder 6.5-20x42 1/2 mil dot illuminated reticle scope (off brand but very nice quality for around $400 - I have two and I highly recommend them.)

DNZ one piece rings/mount

Wyatt's bottom metal & magazines

Harris bipod

I just finished putting everything together this morning. I hope to make it to the range later today.

Thanks. That bolt knob is what came with the VTR. I recently got a 700 AAC SD and added a KRG bolt lift. Its a nice nice option for under $40 delivered.

Nice going! That looks sweet! Wish I had the talent to do something like that. - Todd

Thanks. Not much talent involved. Triggers are easy to switch, the bottom metal is drop-in, a gunsmith swapped the barrels, and anyone can spray paint.

The only real work I had to do was make the barrel channel on the stock wider and deeper. A closet rod with some sandpaper wrapped around it is all it took.

I made it to the range. Seems to do ok with factory ammo. Now time to start perfecting a load. I'm going to start with Berger 140gr VLDs.

Thanks. At first, I was just happy that nothing exploded. lol. The recoil was noticeably less than the .308 - not that the .308 is that bad anyway. I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to perfecting a load.
