I attended my first IDPA match a couple weeks ago to accomplish a few goals, namely have fun, try out my Sony Action Cam, and see if the upgrades I had made to my Glock 19 were worth a damn. The Glock 19 is a Gen 4 model and it is pretty much brand new since prior to the match I had only put about 150 rounds through it, I think it still had some copper lube in the slide actually. I had only made some simple modifications to the pistol, nothing extreme and save for the sights everything was still Glock OEM parts.

    The mod list includes:

    Ameriglo Hackathorn sights
Glock G17 Gen 4 trigger with trigger bar for the smooth face
Polished trigger connector, trigger bar, firing pin, and firing pin safety
    Glock extended slide stop
    Glock extended magazine release
    Talon Grips Grip Tape

I had a blast shooting the match and while I did make some mistakes along the way I feel that it will only help me get better for the next one. Hope you all enjoyed the video!

Nice video. You said you had a blast and the Sony cam seemed to work out well. Were the mods you made to the Glock worth a damn? Looked like you did good for your first match.

Looks like you had a great time, and nice shooting!!

Ive set up some "IDPA style" shooting sequences with friends and had a blast, I really need to enter a match one of these days.

To answer a previous question, yes the modifications that I made to the pistol were worth a damn lol, it was money well spent. I'm really liking the Hackathorn sights from Ameriglo, I'm trying to find a set in stock for my G21SF actually, the blacked out rear sight and big orange dot up front seemed to just naturally draw my eye to a front sight and I think helped with my accuracy some. The polishing job did make a difference in how the trigger felt when compared to how it was when I first picked it up, not really lighter but smoother. I also liked the Talon Grip tape, even the Gen 4 grip got a little sipppery at times but the grip tape took care of that without being overly aggressive or hard on the hands, in fact it was quite comfortable. This is actually going to be part of a larger review I'm working on so there's more to come.
