So I had a piece of Rutland laying around and thought to myself, "since I'm trying to be a cheap-a$$ for my F/TR build, I could just build a stock!". So I draw out a template and get the thing cut out on the bandsaw etc. I'm going to be shooting a Savage target action this year, so I got it inletted for that...
At this point I figured I should test fit the thing to see if it's going to actually fit before I get too gung-ho!
Yup looks like at least one or two bolt holes line up, and by crackey I think I even got the depth right.
Ok, next thing, I better get some pillars glued in there before I forget.
So now that things seem to be fitting, and the pillars are in a machined flush, I think I'll add some adjustment to this stock.
It's high time I decided how the forestock is going to look...
Ok, at this point it's all roughed out, ready for sanding. The adjustment hardware is on, the forestock is contoured. Next I will bed the action. After that I will likely do some sanding, get some sanding sealer on there, sand a little more then hopefully get a finish on it. More pics to come when it's done.
