none of your business
Hi All,

I just got my MAK tube gun back from the smith with a new Schneider Tubb contour 26" barrel,7.5 twist with polygonal rifling chambered in 6x47L.The gun ways 15 lbs now with scope and mag and balances just about perfectly.I really like that contour! Not too heavy or too light.

I called around for wait times on new barrels the Monday I got back from the Utah shootoffs match.Wait times were from 6 weeks to 16 weeks for 4 different top name barrel makers.I just happened to catch Schneider barrels just ahead of a run of 6mm barrels,Yay!My barrel was handed over to my new gunsmith Mike Lamb of Payson AZ in 2 weeks from the time I ordered it.Mike called me up last Friday to come pick it up.So all together about 1 month total time.

The previous barrel in 6x47L was a 28" Broughton 7 twist in heavy varmint contour. The gun weighed 18.5lbs.It sure was front heavy and was way to heavy for me in offhand and kneeling positions.I noticed signs of inaccuracy at approx 2000 rounds when the groups opened up to .8-.9".It died a sudden death during a tactical match a month ago at approx 2450 rounds. It was interesting because I won a 1000 yard paper stage in the morning but later in the day I couldn't hardly group 2"s at 100Y,LOL.

Here's a pic of gun with previous barrel and different scope.Notice that the bolt is strait.

Here's gun with new Tubb contour barrel.Mike bent the bolt handle back at an angle for me and did a great job contouring the muzzle break/barrel fit.

These are the first 8 shots out of the rifle from 100Y all while sighting in and cleaning barrel for break in.The ones in the sticker were the last five shots. All shot from bipod in the dirt.

FIGGEN AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please tell me you are shooting the 2day Las Vegas match this month! The 6x47L is one of the rounds I am thinking about rebarreling my MAK in and I want a lighter contour than I have now.

Thanks Steve!

I like the NF.It's the 5.5-22x56 that I robbed from my 375CT.I thought I would try dialing turrets for a while and see how much difference it makes vs holdovers on the Horus scope.

Take a few pops out of the MAK up in LV and make sure you like it if you want.

I wonder if shooter65's name is Steve too,LOL
