This is my first 22 mag. I was not sure what to expect, I asked a lot of people what to get 22lr, 17hmr, 22mag and I ended up deciding 22mag would be the new stick. I live in Canada where it is really windy and in the end that made it pretty easy to decide of 22mag. I must say I feel as if people look past the cartridge and buy 17's. I could not be happier with my choice. Yesterday the wind was blowing at 15mph and my friend's 17 was getting pushed around at 100y while my mag was still straight with almost no flyers. So if anyone here is a proud mag shooter im with ya! The picture is of a 5 shot group at 100yards
Savage 93 $330CAD
Tasco Varmit Scope $100CAD
Steel rings $25CAD
Rockymount Bipod $70CAD
Flip covers $22
Total $550CAD

To OP: Where are you at in Canadia?

I really like your Savage. I still like HMR just a bit more than WMR. Both are a hell of a lot of fun!

im sure guys have tried but there are a couple problems you run into from the info I have gathered. First is lack of good consistant ammo. And dont forget that that little 40 gr pill is going to go subsonic somewhere around the 150 yard mark if i remember correctly causeing instability. That is the reason most guys choose a 22lr. Not that there is anything wrong with a mag. Hell I have one. It just has its place in my collection, usually that is 100 yards and closer for yotes and other small game.
