Because it fits in a holster and shoots like a 30-06

i appreciate it all the videos i have found on youtube led me to believe the 460 kicked like a mule but in reality it is less than a lightweight 357 speaking of which that 8 shot s&w 357 loaded up with the flextip bullets looks really cool

I find that hard to believe.

I've shot both and the .460 definitely kicks like a mule compared to a j frame with hot loads. Shooting the .460 is like shooting a 5 pound .300 Win Mag with one hand.

It doesn't hurt, but it definitely recoils

Re: my new 460 s&w performance center

sorry this is my first youtube video i have
ever made so it is kinda crap but you can see
the huge fireball coming out of it
most of the shooting was done by sapper12b

i was thinking bushnell elite 3200
or a leupold

Re: my new 460 s&w performance center

I shoot a S&W 500 and they definitely want to carry a scope. I have used both the Leupold 2x and the 2.5-8x. For most purposes the 2x is plenty adequate. My only caveat is to make sure you have a good mounting setup (the integral rail on yours is nice). I have three rings on mine as the scope works very hard to move under recoil.
