First time to the range, with an older 110v I picked up, in .223. Bone stock. No bedding work. Original trigger, etc. I have to admit: I was pleasantly surprised. After a fouling group, with some PMC factory loads, and some minor scope tweaking, I started shooting . I was using some hand loads that worked in my Remmy. First 3 five shot groups went into a quarter. Thinking I might have a shooter on my hands, I concentrated a little more, and put 2 groups into a dime. I'm thinking these Savage guys might have some thing, here.

The targets went in the range trash can. I'm not bangin my chest, here. I just wanted to mention that it was surprising for me. Mention Savage, here, and some guys treat you like you screwed their sister. This is my first Savage. After 6 Remys.

My dad is a huge fan of Savage rifles. As he likes to say (and I don't know where he got this quote): Savage-cheapest way to MOA. Glad the rifle is working out so well for you. They make an outstanding product, IMO. Happy shootin'.
